Poppy achieved a milestone last week - she celebrated her first birthday last week. What an achievement! For her birthday she had a "garden ball" - she now has the same as Abbie. She loves chasing her ball, and definitely feels grown up now!
On Sunday she had a meaty filled bone - and spent about two and a half hours chewing the bone. She was determined to get all the inner meat out, and worked out that if she kept licking the meat it would end up falling out - triumph!
A blog about a puppy with Hereditary Myopathy, and how we are caring for her. Hereditary Myopathy is also known as HMLR or Centro-nuclear Myopathy(CNM).

Nearly One!
Poppy has been defying the odds and going from strength to strength. Her normal walk is now to the Village and back, probably about 1-2 miles! She goes at a rate of knots - but what is quite amusing is that on the return leg she always looks to have the ball to carry. One day recently Dad gave her the ball a bit earlier, so she just literally turned round and headed for home!
Poppy now has lots of doggy friends, but her favourite (other than Abbie of course) is Bouncer - a very handsome, but somewhat large, and amorous yellow labrador. She also loves Charlie a golden retriever.
Yesterday, even though she had been to the Village in the morning I took her to the stables in the afternoon, and she then managed to walk down "Hollow Rocks" which is a really steep stony slope, into the coombe below - she then had a paddle in the stream before walking back up the slope with no stopping at all - absolutely amazing.
Suzy, the original vet can not believe the way she has come on - as she says she has definitely defied the text books.
