Early May update

The medicine has not helped, so we have taken her back off the metacam.  It has been a difficult few days seeing Poppy reduce her levels of activity, but over the past couple of days she has started to pick up a bit.  Suzie had said that one possibility was that it was simply a growth spurt and that was sapping her energy.  Dad has not carried her on her walk for the past 3 days, so fingers crossed.

Her walk is only as far as the play park grass but it is a big improvement on getting only to the end of the drive and then being carried. We do also think she is very weather dependant, if it is too hot or too cold she struggles. This past week has been more normal temperatures about 16 - 18 centigrade.  Previously it was very hot for UK in April being in excess of 22 centigrade.

In the garden and house she is still doing well; she holds her head very well still, so there is no decline here.  She is really happy and thoroughly enjoys playing with Abbie.  Her latest game is getting Abbie's ball and then tempting Abbie to take it back from her mouth!  They roll around on the floor for ages having fun.

Poppy is moulting greatly, and I have brushed her with a wire undercoat brush and got absolutely stacks of loose hair out - I hope the moulting stops soon as the carpets are looking murky black most of the time at the moment and not blue.

Will post again with further update when any change to her condition.
