August 2011

Well we are nearly through the summer, and Poppy (or as she is now more commonly known by us "Po-Po") is nearly 17 months!  She has had her second season, been to the vets for her injections and been "frontlined".  Wow, quite a lot for a puppy who should not be with us!

She is such a happy dog - she loves her walks - at the moment she is a bit slower than usual, but she is still making it to the play park and back.  It is a bit damp so we do think this may cause her to have a few problems.

She has some very funny traits, including an ability to chew through the toughest rubber toys going!  She loves to literally chew of pieces and then ends up eating them - we know whose "poops" are whose in the garden, as hers are marked with yellow, green or blue rubber!

She also has an absolute love of fruit, and will literally sit and drool if you are eating fruit.  We don't think she has any particular favourite, she has tried anything from apples, strawberries, grapes through to nectarines, peaches and even melon, and loved them all:)

She is now much taller than Abbie when she stands, and enjoys sitting looking over the dining room table at us all.  We have kept her weight down (and got told off by the vet who thought she was thin - not Suzie I hasten to add, but our local vet who did her injections.)  We just ignored it, as we know she needs to stay slim to manage to lever herself up and walk about.

She still loves the other dogs, and spends hours playing in particular with Abbie, trying to get her ball from her.  Will post again later in the Autumn with a new update.
