Day Two

All quiet overnight, but I think the dogs all had an early start. Just in case anyone else does ever read this, the three are, Joey (Border Terrier) aged 6, Abbie (Black Labrador) aged 4, and the aforementioned Poppy (Black Labrador) aged about 16 weeks. Ancestry of Poppy is unknown. We simply know she was bred as a working labrador, breeders couldn't home her due to her condition and vet couldn't see her put to sleep - so we ended up with her.

Poppy was ravenous at breakfast, she needs to have her bowl held up as she tends to sit down to eat and if left to her own devices she tends to lie down, which is obviously not so good for digestion. We are trying to work out whether some sort of stand for her bowl will work.

Drinking also tends to be done flat on the floor, so a very wet face ensues when it is licking you!

Plenty of morning energy, and only a small accident overnight, but then pretty tired for a lot of the day, but as were the original two, so not much read into this.

Some early morning running (or bunny hopping as her condition makes her do) and trying to play rough house with Abbie. She ate well today, 3 square meals of Purina Puppy - about 100 gms each meal, moistened with water.

More money has been spent - the new bed (low sides and nice and soft for ease of getting in and out) and a pink girlie collar today! No problem with accepting the collar, but when Dad put the lead on, she was totally not sure about what was expected. We'll leave her be for today, as she has had a lot to cope with. See what tomorrow brings.
