Sometimes it is sad just to think that Poppy will never be quite like a "normal" puppy, and the small glimpses we get of total normality are quite hard to come to terms with. Today, just before tea, Poppy spent several minutes really annoying Abbie. She was trying to bite her ears, her legs and indeed anything that came close to her mouth! She followed Abbie round and round the table, much to Abbie's annoyance. Abbie having been told off earlier for pulling Poppy when playing tug, was not going to take a chance of getting told off again, and simply put up with this puppy, just walking to and fro hoping she would give up - which within 5 minutes of course she did, when she just ran out of steam. We think that in dog language, Abbie can't quite make out this puppy - she knows she must be gentle with her, but yet at times she is a near normal annoying puppy.
Poppy is getting lots taller, and heavier. We think that she is not deteriorating, but we are starting to worry that weight will be the main enemy, as this is making it harder for her to get to her feet, although when she is on her feet, she seems to be quite strong, other than when walking on the tarmac.
A continued waiting game.
